Inspired by "Lady with an Ermine" by Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci, a master of the Italian Renaissance, created "Lady with an Ermine" around 1489-1490. This portrait is believed to depict Cecilia Gallerani, the young mistress of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan. Notable for its refined technique and psychological depth, the painting exemplifies Leonardo's mastery in capturing human emotion and character. The ermine, symbolizing purity and moderation, also alludes to Ludovico, who was known as "Ludovico il Moro" (the Moor), as he received the Order of the Ermine. This artwork demonstrates Leonardo’s innovative use of chiaroscuro to create a lifelike three-dimensionality, marking a significant contribution to portraiture and further cementing his legacy as a pioneer of Renaissance art.
Comes packaged with Pin Museum branded backer card, and a protective polybag.
